11月3日 If I Could Save And Load My University Life
If it were an essay about school life, it would have been completed in a shorter time. Thus the tragedy reveals itself: as a senior, I am full of campus traits and leisure still...
An RPG lover would feel familiar with the terms 'save' and 'load', i.e. 'record the game information' and 'make the recorded information ready to use' in order to play the same game for several times in different ways. If I could do so to my sliding university life, I would adopt the order now at the ending point of campus life. I suppose I would carry out 'save' at the very beginning of university life as most people might do in such a case and samely, load the document by the end of my fourth or fifth year. By doing so, I don't mean to give vent to unsatisfaction of the passed four years. Instead, I cherished everyday as well as enjoyable fruit of my devotions.
Still, the first loading would be used to try a life filled with exploration in academic field. The purpose of it is to enjoy sense of achievement and to see my academic potential. In addition, my second loading goes for a road of accumulating internship experience and aims for discovery of difference between campus and society.
Plus, if I could save and load, my life would easily fall into a rigidly repeated circle. But in some cases this could be avoided, for saving and loading should not merely be under the reason of regret. Even so, one would endure the hardship once more, to get rid of the tragedy caused by oneself. Since even if one could save and load, the thing after loading rely on oneself, who would not necessarily succeed. Just like in the game, if in a maze, the player has to do 'save and load' all the time to ensure himself having every paths tried and every treasure discovered. However many times he does so, unavoidably, he would repeat the process of wandering in the maze as well.
On the other hand, the essence of 'save and load' lies in tasting different styles and flavors of life, and it lures us to fully enjoy diverse effects brought to us in campus. Unfortunately, the former reason, namely, the one for regret, takes up most part of the whole situation. Only few have the wish for the later reason.
All in all, if I could save and load my university life like what I can do in a computer game, I would still cherish time. Moreover, I would enjoy the limited life to the greatest extent.
(412 words) 8月21日 Argument 015 On the selling and purchasing Old Dairy stock Generally, the advice of selling Old dairy's shares and not purchasing its stock is too arbitrary based on the evidence the invest consular while the offered evidence is at best an assumption not likely to become reality.
First, the survey mentioned in the newsletter is a vague one, for the investor got no information as what types of people survey takers are or in which region the survey is done. It is reasonable that the participants of the survey consist of elders or diabetes patients who are not like or are forbidden taking fats and cholesterol. It is equally possible that the survey are taken outside the market area of Old Dairy's food. In such cases, the survey is of little credulity.
Plus, investors receive little information about types of products or service Old Dairy mainly operates. No sign shows food rich in fats and cholesterol is its main products while it probably has other kinds of food, low-calorie one for example, even other utterly different kind of products like gardening stuff. The depression of food containing fats and cholesterol may have little impact on the company's main products.
On the other hand, sales and profits are not the only two factors determining the rising or dropping of stock price. The new policy and personnel situation, as well as production also influent the company's stock price a lot, Unfortunately, readers have no idea about any of them. Besides, the whole stock market might just in a soaring process or just passes a depression process. Thus there are too many uncertain factors concerning with the stock price of Old Dairy Company.
In conclusion, nothing certain is presented to prove the definite decreasing of the company's sales or profits, nor the dropping of its stock price. Thus investor should take action before detailed investigation and careful consideration instead of easily following the advance offered above.
(Written on Aug 21th, 313words) Issue176The function of science is to reassure, the purpose of art is to upset. Therein lies the value of each.
Generally speaking, the statement is correct yet not fully developed. In other words, one of the many benefit science brings about is answering human's questions while the essence of art is creation. However, the ultimate goal of both should be serving for people and improving their lives.
At the beginning, as for science, a common recognition of its working procedure is studying phenomena which originally exist. The purpose for some scientist to do so might be answering their doubts like why fish can breath in the water or how birds fly in the sky, yet the actual effect never stays so surfacial or shallow.
On one hand, a part of scientific knowledge, especially the newly developed one, would open surprisingly new fields or branches, thus lead the future direction of the whole subject. On the other hand, a larger part of scientific knowledge, expanded after explaining human's questions, i.e. one of many ways of serving for people and improving their lives, is dedicated to creating more convenient inventions. For instance, Merely an answer to how germs pollute dishes all the time is much less meaningful than the invention of canned food, although the latter is based on the former theory.
Besides, science should be received and acknowledged by common people, not only for solving their daily doubts, but also for earning their supports and understanding. Scientific projects without practical purpose of surving people are less likely to be supported than ones with it, like the atom bomb factory is always less welcomed than a nuclear power station.
Then, as for art, which itself is created by human, consists of numerous creations. From million years ago, when prehistory human begin to make embellishment such as necklace made of bones and selected stones, to modern days when people have already developed a huge collection of paintin and music categories, human proved their pursuit of beauty via the process of developing and enlarging art. At the same time, it is also proved that art as to increasing joy and quality of life, functions as something serving for people.
Some may argue, that the essence of art is to pursue beauty. But the pursuit of beauty should based on a remarkable receiption population. Art too elegant to be received would lose its value as the one too ugly to be received. Like a delicate 镂空 construction cannot have people to live in would make people lose desire to purchase it thus lost a large part of its value. In a word, the final goal of art is to surve people and improve their lives. It becomes more clear in modern society where mess entertainment like movies and dramas are more and more popular.
At last, the ultimate goal of both is to surve people and update their life quality, while reassuring and upsetting are one way of many to achieve the purpose. People should take the issue with proper attitude.

Argument 009 On inflated grades and succesful job今日感想:恼火啊……遇到这种经济类的题目我就只能就事论事的挑错误,这种情况比较危险吧……可是没办法……555555
By listing evidence of the past fifteen years at Omega and drawing comparison between Omega and Alpha University, the author wants to improve the necessity for Omega University to abolish student evaluation of professors, although apparently he failed to do because the evidence is not adequately convincing.
At first place, no proof shows direct connection between higher grades and the evaluation procedure. It is likely to be caused by the dropping difficulty of exams or a widely improving study method among students, as well as the bringing in of new study facilities or the rising dedication to study in students. Nothing obvious shows the evaluation system definitely serves as the main reason.
Besides, the author omits the possible positive quality of the procedure. It is assumed to help improving the quality of professors though the given paragraph didn't say that directly.
On the other hand, the comparison between the two university is not so reasonable, for the two may have different specialty, thus their graduates may enter different types of career, of which some are easy for graduates to hunt a job while some are hard. So merely the evaluation system couldn't matter as much as the author expected. Plus, the author didn't mention the scoring situation in Alpha University. It is possible for Alpha University to have a relatively low average score while having a high employment rate.
What's more, no evidence can show that scores dominate the criteria of employ a graduate student. Scores are only one of the many representatives of competence. Thus university should emphasize more on rising the competence of students.
In conclusion, before making decision to abandon the procedure, Omega University should do further research on the reasons causing inflated grades and find out a more effective way of forging a student better received by working place.
(Written on Aug 20th, 302 words) Argument 239(本篇感想:好像写得有点久!不能这样啊……而且字数囧一个……多写点……能写多少写多少……于是今天的argument就完成到这里吧。下次主要注意提升速度!) "When the neighboring town of williamsville adopted a curfew four months ago that made it illegal for persons under the age of 18 to loiter or idle in public places after 10 p.m., youth crime in williamsville dropped by 27 percent during curfew hours. In Williamsville's town square, the area where its citizens were once most outraged at the high crime rate, not a single crime has been reported since the curfew was introduced. Therefore, to help reduce its own rising crime rate, the town of Dalton should adopt the same kind of curfew. A curfew that keeps young people at home late at night will surely control juvenile delinquency and protect minors from becoming victims of crime."
Apparently, the example of Williamsville's adopting of curfew in just four months is not adequately enough for other towns, including Dalton of course, to follow. Plus, the two places have no obvious similarity in population stucture and crime rate.
First, as is said above, even in Williamsville which seems to begin the juvenile issue, the institute is just put into effect for four months, causing the statistics not as convincing as the author expected. Not to mention those examples have problems in themselves.
On one hand, he figure "27 percent" stressed by author actually doesn't represent anything. Because readers don't know whether the crime rate has risen or dropped without the curfew hours. What's more readers cannot figure out the reason of the dropping 27 percent. In other words, the ebbe may result from a beginning of new semester when most younsters are busy with school work or other reasons.
On the other hand, unequiping to all the places, Williamsville's town square is just one part of the whole town. And no evidence shows a direct connection between zero-crime-report and the adoption of curfew. Assumptions that the residents there had bad weather or stayed in for custom reasons are as reasonable as the adoption of curfew. At last, the curfew specially made for younsters has certain problems like restricting the freedom of them.
What's more, Williamsville has no obvious similarity to Dalton. Take the percentage of juvenile and juvenile delinquency for instance: Williamsville may have a much larger percentage of both than Dalton does. It is also possible for Dalton to have few crime while Williamsville has many.
All in all, both the example of Williamsville and the comparison between the two towns rarely have credulity. Therefore before the adoption of curfew, authority of Dalton should do deeper research to ensure the effectiveness of the rule.
